The Art

I believe you can learn interior design, but one must be born with style. Design is a "Art", not a science.
Even the most talented designer will admit that arranging accessories is a trail and error process. One begins by looking for the similarities as well as the contrast among objects.

And we must not forget the all important "Art" of editing . . . when working on a space, remove objects until you can not take one more thing away; letting your room breathe . . .

But in the end, remember ~ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder . . . taste is personal. Period.

Pet Peeve ~ The Line Up

I mean really, I can not even believe this one . . . Who would do this to a very lovely mantel ? I love pottery, but when it is lined up like that, it is just a eye sore. And what about all that open space above the line up . . .

Could they find anything smaller to put on that mantel??? I just don't get it, do you?

Beautiful room, but would you agree that the art is the "only" thing needed above the mantel?

This looks like a great space, but I am almost certain we have a line up on the mantel . . . What's your thoughts on the line up?

A Sweet Obsession

I believe with all my heart that , if you listen, a house will tell you just what it needs . . .
So take time with your home, pay attention . . . Nature does not hurry , yet everything is accomplished.

A designer is a dreamer. He/She thinks about the space as a "living space", one that will forever be evolving.

It is a "Sweet Obsession" . . .

Can anyone tell me who's rooms we are enjoying today?

More Inspiration For Brenda

Mostly, a white soothing dream, but just a touch of green.
Green as a focal . . .

and again . . .

This one just makes me want to trash my own bedroom and start over! I love this room so much, there is only one thing to change, IMHO; I would love to see wood floors in here. So tell me Ms. Brenda, are you feeling any better?
