I think it is both strange and kinda cool!~ There is something I liked in each one of the pics...I would just have my own way of putting it together!~ The last pic with the round table is awesome, I just did not care for the light!!~ Thanks for sharing these cool pics, something to inspire and think about!
I'm not too keen on that furry pendant light, but I can see certain elements in each room that appeal to me. Not my personal style, but I can appreciate them.
There is an odd element in each room, where I think there were far better ways to give them an edge. The space with the green walls in the second to the last photo all works and looks great!
The only room I could live in is the last one with the round table....but I'd have to change the light...maybe a simple vintage fixture. Wall colors and contrast in that room are wonderful!
My friend, I was just coming over to say hello and see what you've been up to! I've had to do a bit of catching up at your place and have left you notes on the last four posts or so!
Hmmm...you know, I basically like all of the rooms in the photos. Each room has some beautiful design elements to them. My favorite room is that gorgeous dining room done in gray! Oooh..yummy! I would love to do a gray room!!! However, I must say that each of the "weird" elements in the rooms...just ruin the design for me! I guess I'm not that "hip" when it comes to design! I'm pretty traditional! I love the eclectic style when done right...very interesting! I just don't like shag carpet lamp shades, ect! Hehe! Thanks for sharing the photos...this was a fun and thought provoking post!
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend! Chari @Happy To Design
PS...sure did enjoy seeing photos of that new grandbaby!!!
I like all the photos, but they all have one thing that makes them just a little off or edgy. My favorite is that round wood table. Love that room, but the light is weird.
Well, some things are really cool and then some are sort of strange. I just seem to see a lot of really elegant and formal paired with very rustic. Guess that is part of the new trend. Also, I am taking over Table Top Tuesdays from Barb since her business has her very busy right now. I so hope you will join us on Tuesdays. Hugs, Marty
You find some of the best photos. Is that a carpet chandelier in one of those photos??? Hey, I changed my bedding, stop by and take a lookie and see what you think.
It has personality and an artistic touch throughout. I could have lived here in my twenties, when I was testing and asserting myself. It has verve, energy and surprise.
I love the first one, but I don't like the rug thingy hanging above the table in the second one. The next two are okay, the last one would be great with a different chandelier. It must belong to a young, very artistic type person.
Wonderful, strange, strange, wonderful, strange. Although there is something to love in every photo. But not that shaggy bathmat pendant. I don't want that hanging over my breakfast.
perhaps the answer is both - strange AND wonderful. It's all about the preferences of the people who live in the rooms anyway, so who am I to say? good reminder that creativity and quirky color-texture combinations can create so much visual interest!
I am not a big fan of shaggy carpets, but 3, 4 and 5 I actually enjoyed, even though 5 made me laugh out loud when I saw the light fixture, it makes me want to meet them, I bet they are fun! ~Lili
Hmmmm, mostly strange, but do LOVE the green wall colour! The last is almost OK except the lamps on the mantel. You are so good at finding interesting things for us to ponder! xx How's Tater?
* V-girl, one NICE THING about getting "older" is acquiring a bit of a more "Hey! If it makes THEM happy & isn't hurting anyone (well, maybe a few EYES! Grins!), then I'm game!"... (I.E: Couldn't LIVE with it MYSELF, but then again, I don't HAVE to!). (That's probably why the word "option" was invented~~~~ whatchasay???)~~~
OTHER than the "chandelier" (???) in the last pic, I really like that room! The table? Of course, that's just TOO FAB for words!
May I make one "observation"? Doing questionable things with/to one's house "JUST" for the shock value" has never appealed to me. Personally, I find it very "insincere/fake". BUT, when I see a, let's say, NON-everyday, almost TOOOOO "out of the box" space, & YET it "matches" the personality of the OWNER, it then all "falls together"~~~~ it "explaaaains everything"!!!! One's home truly SHOULD reflect them & their interests/preferences etc... even IF the owner IS "kinda wacky", they're usually REEEEEALLY FUN folks! (Just my thinking!)...
Missed being around y'all for just a wee bit, but it's ALLLLLWAYS nice to be back at your site, where the writing is great, the topics fun and the hand of friendship is ALWAYS open AND sincere!
Love to MOST PRECIOUS lil' "Tater tot"! (And keep some for yourself, too!)~
*Hi! Just came back to "check something" & yes, I was right... I DID like the second-to-the-last picture, with the greens, etc... And just saw Greet's comment.... that's pretty accurate, too!!! Hugs, Linda
The only one I like is the green one it has a sense of calm the others don;t and I really need that in a home. I still think you can have something a little edgy and unexpected and still have it work bit just don;t see it in the other rooms. AS always you get us to THINK! Thank you.

ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I think they are all wonderful. I love the eclectic! Don't usually have the guts for it myself, but I do appreciate seeing it!
ReplyDeleteI say strange!
ReplyDeleteIt is strange to live with for me...however there are wonderful things in each photo...Fascinating to look at!

ReplyDeleteWonderful old wood round table. All are interesting.... sandi
ReplyDeleteDefinitely very different. I liked the first and last pics best but did not care for the light in the last pic.
ReplyDeleteA little bit of both.
ReplyDeleteThe only room I could live in is the last one with the round table....but I'd have to change the light...maybe a simple vintage fixture. Wall colors and contrast in that room are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love eclectic, not bizarre though. I like elements in each room!

ReplyDeleteOoo unconventional but lovely!

ReplyDeleteLeAnn:)
The last one is WONDERFUL! I love it! The only one that really strikes me as strange is the second photo with the furry lamp! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt has personality and an artistic touch throughout. I could have lived here in my twenties, when I was testing and asserting myself. It has verve, energy and surprise.

ReplyDeleteIt's strange and wonderful ! Really like the last photo with the fantastic round table and the funky light fixture. Great photos!

ReplyDeletejust not doin' it for me ...
ReplyDeleteUnique. Who says interiors need to be conventional?

ReplyDeleteI liked the first photo a lot..and bits of some of the others..mostly though, they were a bit strange! :D
ReplyDeleteI say wonderful because each individual has really personalized their space.
ReplyDeleteSissie
I have to vote strange on these.
ReplyDeleteI am not a big fan of shaggy carpets, but 3, 4 and 5 I actually enjoyed, even though 5 made me laugh out loud when I saw the light fixture, it makes me want to meet them, I bet they are fun! ~Lili
ReplyDeletei LOVE the first photo...for some reason that room just hit me.
ReplyDeleteI loved your blog title--blog shopping and yes I do that all the time.
Gonna think about it for a spell...gotta let these images soak in for awhile.
ReplyDeleteOkay. That's that. Not for me. Is it for thee???
I am a champion of personal expression, but when I look at the gorgeous bones of that first room, all I see is wasted opportunity.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, mostly strange, but do LOVE the green wall colour! The last is almost OK except the lamps on the mantel.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at finding interesting things for us to ponder!

I love them all- but then they look like my house= weird and wonderful!
