The kitchen with the concrete counters! The suggestion I made for this room was to add the stove hood, the microwave was over the stove in the blue prints for the house, we moved it over by the frig. The stone back splash, all "Jim and Lacey". Lace wanted the gray cabinets and we all loved that ideal . . .
This is the dining room right off the foyer. The photo does not do this space justice, you can not see the beautiful oil painting or how the natural light comes in so beautifully. The only thing I added to the design of this room was the light fixture . . . the rest all "Jim and Lacey".
Looking down from the staircase landing . . . the library ladder moves across to a very high bookcase, my ideal , just for that extra something to make one go "ahhhh", the stone fireplace was laid stone by stone by my very talented son in law, "Jim". This space is opened to the breakfast room and the kitchen.
The master bedroom is one of the few rooms with very much color at all. I wish you could see the three oil painting over the bed , they are so pretty. I helped Lacey mix and match the bedding, we had so much fun putting the bed together, all the pieces came from Penny's. She is looking for a new lamp, and the rug will come later.
So that is the tour at this time. I will show the baby's room later. I just got the bedding made and it is so cute.
Thanks for forgiving me for my lack of posts lately. I have been so busy with my guest room and laying wood flooring . . . I will soon have lots more to share.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love all of it; the kitchen, especially!
I'm glad you're back. But what better reason to be gone than to have a new grandbaby on the way!! It's so great that you can help them with their new house.
ReplyDeleteKelly
Oh what a gorgeous home. I know they are so happy with it. Love all the personal touches they gave to every room. Hugs, Marty

Wow, Vicky...beautiful home! I know Lacey and Jim must be soooo excited! You guys really worked well together...love the blending of their ideas with yours for their home! The range hood is spectacular in the kitchen! Do you have any before pics...this would be awesome to post to link for Met Monday this evening! Thanks for sharing their gorgeous home!
ReplyDeleteSusan
P.S. Love the library ladder! ~~sigh~~
A new house is so exciting. I love that you helped your daughter and had input while respecting their taste. Sweet story and lovely home!
ReplyDeleteLove it and I love her decorating style....very nice! Liz :)
ReplyDeleteokay, girl ... I'll let you off the not blogging hook
ReplyDelete...nothing more thrilling than being involved in a project such as this ...ESPECIALLY a daughter ... AND a daughter that's giving you a grand-baby....I have almost three of them ... NOW you will be visiting her in this house that love built and you helped. I wouldn't be changing a thing....the kitchen is where I'd be hanging out ALL the time. I saw cement countertops about four years ago at a client in Chicago ... I've dreamed of them from that day to this.
HUGS ... when is the GRAND-baby due?
let's chat
I thought I would explain the box of baseballs in the master bedroom. Jim played college ball and when he would hit a home run, he would be given the ball. He would write love notes on them and throw them to Lacey...how sweet is that? Thanks everyone for the sweet comments and thanks for not forgetting about me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home! I love the choice of the concrete counters and gray cabinets. I adore the library ladder!!
ReplyDeleteThey must be so excited ~ new house, new baby! You've got a lot going on!
ReplyDeleteVicky, Thanks for your comment! Guess what? I have 6 dogs, too - I just didn't add that part in my post!!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicky,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great home. I believe it is the little things that can make big differences. The library ladder, love it. You are right, who doesn't just sigh at the sight of one. The range hood and concrete countertops take the design up a notch.
I know what you mean when you say the picture doesn't do it justice. Sometimes when you are in a room and the light comes in just right and makes the artwork glow - I'll grab my camera and you know what, it doesn't do it justice.
Congratulations on becoming a grandma, there's nothing like it!
