Just a few Changes for the Humble Bathroom

My 80's bathroom is not something to write home about. There is not much that can be done with the humble space, accessories are about it . . . Last year I added a copper vessel sink on a concrete counter, re-stained the vanity and added some texture to the walls. I did these things right before entering a makeover contest that a fellow blogger was hosting. I did not win, nor did I really like the accessories that I got. So I recently went on the hunt for some new "eye candy" for the space.

A new picture I picked up at a local consignment shop.

Here is how it looked when I entered the contest. Not really my style, no wonder I did not win. I left all this stuff at the same consignment shop . . . do you think it will sell? lol

A close up of my counter, I really love it. I plan to do the master bath's too, but I am going to leave it unstained with a white sink. I have already told my honey that's what I want for Christmas, he so wishes, that I liked jewlery . . .

Here is the before , before . . . What was I thinking?

  1. Bathrooms are so difficult! I do love the sink, so work with it. We are in the process of painting our daughter's bathroom...they originally picked "bubblegum pink"...they wanted the Juicy Couture Pink and Chocolate...never happened. Dad hates the pink! Their cabinets are a beautiful chocolate color, so we are going with a pretty blue color on the walls. Love the combo...a bit more soothing. Hope to post pictures soon.

  4. I remember when you did the concrete countertop because I've always been so impressed with it. Don't be so hard on yourself about the bathroom, sometimes what we think works does work at the time. Afterwards our tastes change and that's when we wonder "what was I thinking". It's even like that with hair and clothing. Just remember at the time you did like it. It's all good.

The second bathroom will look beautiful with a new sink and counter, but I must say, it's not so terrible now.

  19. Not certain about photos and blogger but .... are you trying to load them from the camera directly or from a 'my pictures' file on your hard drive. The new camera shouldn't make a difference especially if you were able to post photos before .........
