"My" Top Ten Design Elements # 10

If you follow my blog, you should be able to guess the last element . . .

If I have said it once, I have said it a thousand times.

Keep

It

Simple.

Don't do too much with any space. Try not to clutter it.

Simple spaces are restful for the body and the soul.

That does not mean it can't be interesting too. My 10 elements of Design are now all listed. I am waiting for yours . . .

  1. I have a tendency to over-fussify...but it makes me feel like I cannot breathe. I would rather have three large pieces of furniture in a room than ten small ones. It just FEELS better. I am no designer, though.

  2. "Elegance is refusal."

    Can't remember who said it.

  3. Lovely rooms. This concept is a difficult one for me...I tend to add too many things to a room. Thank you for reminding me that simple is really the best, and the prettiest.

  4. Maybe it's just me, this morning, but these images are nothing short of poetic. And, after all, in poetry, editing, and saying the most with the least, but most effective words, is what you are talking about in visual design, too. Your are right on, Vicky!

  7. I so agree. We are in the process of going room by room and paring down to what we truly love. The rooms I have done so far I am loving!! Less is definitely more!!

this is so important-- but I can't muster the strength to keep it simple--for all the energy I expend on keepin' it busy!

I'll try harder. Because SIMPLE really is what I'm after! (it is always just out of reach...)

I've enjoyed the Top Ten List- thanks for doing it!
