  1. I love it but the drapes and blinds don't work together very well.

  2. The couch looks most comfy. The big candleholders? A distraction.
    Drapes too.

  3. Looks like a cozy room. I'd love to throw a few of those pillows off the sofa and curl up with a book !

  4. Definitely a cozy room! I love the icy grey wall color and the wood blinds... fresh and cozy at the same time! The terracotta accents in the room look so pretty too!

  5. Somehow it's a little too busy for my taste. I think the curtains, or the curtain/blind combo are throwing me off.

  10. I think the blinds could work if they were even. It looks a little busy with all the pillows. Candle holders are too skinny, no weight to them.

  12. I love the room. I love the worn chairs and believe it or not the blue/grey walls. However, if I were a teacher I would take out my red marker and circle the art between the windows and the too low art beside the lamp, the uneven blinds, the #2 sitting in the window and the striped red pillows.(I do not have a issue with the pops of red, it is the feel of the fabric that is off for my taste). I would also remove some of the pillows and the plant. I feel this is a great example of not knowing when to stop. Most of the time, "Less is More".

  13. Do any of you guys go to "Rate My Space"? I loved that site when it was new and easy to use, fast ect. I hate it now and never go there. When I first went to the site, I thought it was about helping one another make their spaces better offering new ideals ect. I later learned that if you said anything other than 5 stars you were in trouble... lol not always, but most people did not want to hear your ideals. I found this so odd as I would love to hear others ideals on my oown space. Would anyone like to send me a photo of your personal room to "Talk About"? I would ask everyone to please be nice, but I would allow all comments... If you are interested let me know.

  14. Call me curious.
But, see that little 'taste' of wood floor, peaking out from under that rug? It's just
lying there, in all it's natural worn glory.

I'd like to see a tad more. It looks so time worn and lovely!

  19. The photo? Perfection in my book. I agree with you on RMS. It didn't turn out to be what I thought it was either. Instead I just browsed it for inspiration and I'm glad I did because it is what led me to blogland! ;)

  20. Hi Vickie, on the most part I love everything about this room, its very cozy and inviting. However my ocd would make me line up the blinds and remove some pillows and take away the candlesticks. Another great post

  21. Ooooh...I love the room, it is so comfy, cozy looking. I wish my living room looked like that. I agree with your observations, more is less, sometimes we just don't know when to quit. I would love to send you a photo of my living room. I am just not happy with it and don't know what to change to make it right. More and more I'm thinking that it is the yellow walls that just aren't working anymore. I would love to have your opinion, Vicky, not sure if I want everyone's, though. Know what I mean?
    Have a lovely day!
    Hugs, Cindy

  24. OK...I think the curtains and the bamboo work well together, a bit of texture and pattern. And I love the pop of color from the turquoise planter in the center (with that sweet little picture tied around in ribbon...adds just the touch of personality). Like Karen B, this has been one of my favs from Cottage Living mag (from a few years ago). And while I might edit a few of those pillows off the couch, overall, I LOVE this room!
