Dallas, Texas designer Shannon Bowers' home shows how one can take a once dark Georgian House and turn it into a pale "European Dream", bathed in sunlight.
Shannon is the daughter of Houston designer Pamela Pierce, so she comes by her passion for decorating naturally. I can
definitely see Pierce's
influence in her daughters work . . . can you?
Bowers decorates with practicality in mind . . . as a mother with two young children, she will tell you her home is filled with activity. So she wanted it to be as serene as possible, note the lack of pattern.
Like the homes she decorates for clients, her own home reflects her personal sense of style while allowing everyone to feel at ease . . . Beautiful, warm and comfortable. I love her style, how about you?
Thank you for your kind visit today. I really appreciate it. You're always welcome!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday.

I love her accessory pieces throughout these rooms. These are just a bit too light for my personal taste, but like with other styles that aren't to my personal taste, I can still appreciate them.
ReplyDeleteA very soothing style she has. Makes you want to sink down in her photos and relax!

What a gorgeous home. It is wonderful the way she has captured all the possible light into every room. Her style is stunning. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI visited my sister in law's house yesterday and it's beautiful. Lots of dark, rich colors on the wall and big, heavy, dark wood furniture and sumptuous window treatments. This morning I was looking around my house, my house with pure white walls and white lace curtains and wondered why I don't do more with color. The I see you describe the serenity of Bowers choice of decor and I realized why. I love serenity and my house makes me feel that way. Thanks for that insight into myself :-)
ReplyDeleteLike this alot!

It's very pretty. One day I think I'll have a pale house.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful style and fabulous inspiration!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rooms! Very calm and serene, but I need COLOR around me! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Bowing my knee to HRH Bowers...tipping my hat, saluting, hi-fiving ... and anything else you could think of that would let you know that I adore the palette and the sense and sensibility of new juxtaposed with old!
ReplyDeleteYou're rockin'out, as usual!
I enjoyed these photos. I keep a copy of the second one with the 5 plaques on the barn wood...I would love to find something like them or even make them myself one of these days. Comfortable and serene indeed!
ReplyDeleteThe light in those rooms is enviable...I wish I could get that. The rooms are beautiful..there is color but it is so subtle. Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the nursery!

Shannon Bowers' previous home was profiled several years ago in a design magazine (can't remember which one). As beautiful as her current home is, her previous home truly rocked my world. She had a silk covered armless sofa/settee in her living room that I will probably always dream about.
ReplyDeleteI do really like this current home, but would consider myself in heaven if I lived in her previous home. Jenny C.
Love all the found elements and worn woods in the foyer. And the colors are all so soft and pretty.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I want to thank you for the sweet comment on my post of yesterday! It means a lot to me you know!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to say that your post of today was one to remeber! I filed your images of Shannon Bower! It is just wonderful! I really become addicted to the Swedish style and Shannon has a very good taste!!!!
Thanks again!!

Love it all. I didn't know that Shannon was Pamela's daughter - that explains a few things. What a beautiful room for a baby. Soothing.
ReplyDeleteCheers!

Beautiful elegance, so calming to the eyes.
ReplyDeleteJenny, how I wish I could see that home too...
ReplyDeleteWOW
ReplyDeleteI am in love with the child's room.
Mmmmmm, I do LOVE her decorating style but I'm afraid my hubby and the dog would have to go with so many light colours. :) -Brenda-
ReplyDeleteIf you look at the attached link from Cote de Texas, you'll find a couple of pics from Shannon Bowers' previous home. One is of her dining room and one is of her EXQUISITE sofa/settee.
