I have made a few changes in my Master Bedroom and thought I would share . . . The big chance of course is the wood floors! But I also changed the drapes and some of the bedding. I am not a "Bedding in the bag" kind of gal so some of it stayed the same. I kept my lamps, but changed the shades , making a huge
difference, but one that doesn't show because of the sunlight coming into the space. I love cotton bedding , but it does wrinkle . . .
In any room I do, I try to add a "Element of Surprise", for this room , my antique high chair is serving as a night stand. I thought about styling this for you guys, but thought I would show it as it really is . . . I am always reading something, I have to have a clock and a picture of Tate near by .
The " Before", can you see what a few changes can do? I may go back to this darker look in the fall and winter . . . I love to change things with the seasons. Have a great weekend!
I love an all white bedroom, with dark wood. It spells romance and intrigue.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you posting again! I love how all that white cotton bedding looks against the backdrop of the dark wood floors! ~Lili
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wounderful how a few changes can give a room a whole new look. Love the pretty white drapes, so pretty and fresh. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYour white bedding and white wt's are really beautiful. I love the white, too. Mine is vintage chenille, though, so it doesn't wrinkle.
ReplyDeleteI love your little bedside table, a sweet surprise and of course your photo of Tate in the cloche is just too cute!
I love the color in your room and the fact that you haven't painted your woodwork! Now I know that there are two of us who haven't bowed to popular opinion and painted all of our woodwork. I feel better!
Hugs, Cindy S
I do love the red drapes for your Fall/Winter look. I love how it brings your attention to the red in the armoire. Cotton and Summer ~ part of the fun of that IS the wrinkles!
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks beautiful. I am a big fan of all white cotton bedding.
ReplyDeleteI think the idea of using the vintage highchair as a nightstand is wonderful!

I have just discovered your beautiful blog today and am thoroughly smitten. What delightful photos and commentary you share. I am becoming a follower immediately.
ReplyDeleteYour niece's wedding was sheer poetry!! How lovely were your daughters in blue with their bouquets? this is the stuff of which dreams are made.
Blessings to you today.
In Grace,
Marie
* V-girl, it all looks sooo lovely n' inviting, and your floors turned out just beauuutifully!!! ("Whew, lotsa work", huh???)~~~
ReplyDeleteTerriffic idea re your "nightstand" too and, of course, always adore all-white on the bed... Changing pillows/curtains n' other colors out seasonally is GREAT FUN~~~~ (MY problem is, there are only 4 SEASONS per year... and if you live in the desert, TWO.. so, I just "pretend alot!!!)...
So happy to see you this beautiful Saturday a.m., dear ol' pal!
Hugs,
Linda in AZ *

Vicky~I love the idea of going lighter in the summer. Your bedding looks so comfy and cool.
ReplyDeleteSomeday I will have to give this a try. I am one of those people who..once I finally get it all put together I never change it. But you make it look so easy! Thanks for sharing.
~C~
Love the changes....I am not a bed in a bag type person either....
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is wonderful.
So Pretty! I love the fact that just a few changes can make such a difference! Gorgeous floors!
ReplyDeleteIt's just beautiful - white or red drapes!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I LOVE the woods floors and chair as a night stand touch ;)
ReplyDeleteI adore the summer changes you've made in the room. It's so refreshing and perfect for a summer's day or night.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for all your kind words, I love hearing from you !
ReplyDeleteI love to do seasonal change arounds myself. I love your red drapes, but the white does brighten things up for summer. I love cotton bedding also, but you have to love the wrinkles :) or drive yourself crazy???
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
The lighter draperies make it so "light" in feel; no heaviness. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou have done white right! I love white when it is mixed with wood tones and color. Some white decor out there now is so dead looking! Your room looks fresh, airy and still very rich. Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteYou asked about my camera... it is a Cannon Rebel. I have a regular lense and a telephoto lense. I mostly use my telephoto one, it seems to capture the detail best. My wonderful husband got it for me for Christmas, I was so surprised! I really don't know how to use it very well. I found the AV (don't know what that means) setting and discovered it gives a nice soft background.
I think the thing that people don't really realize is that most of my pictures are close up shots. They tend to look more professional. And they don't show any mess that lies beyond~

Very pretty. Fresh and light. Love how the wood floor grounds it all and gives your space depth. Probably feels cool on a warm summer day too.
ReplyDeleteI'm due!!! and not with a baby ...
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty room and I prefer not to have bedding in a bag, too. My bedding is several different pieces from different makers. I love you high bed.
ReplyDeleteVicky,
ReplyDeleteNice changes for Summer. I like to lighten up my bed in summer too. This year, I haven't done it yet. I have a velvet bed and it feels hot and heavy right now. Don't tell my husband, but I'm thinking of reupholstering it.....
So cute you have little Tate by your bedside!
It looks so bright and airy now, Vicky. Aren't we glad nothing is ever permanent at home? I love changing things around too....Christine
ReplyDeletenice!! all the designs of the bedroom in photos are looking cool !! color combination are really good according to summer.

FRESH AS A SUMMER BREEZE ... hope that doesn't sound too commercial. LOV-I-LEE job Ms. Vicky! -Brenda-
ReplyDeleteAh! I've been searching for good ideas for our bedroom flooring. Redondo Beach is the inspiration of our new house. My family just love the beach - all the surfing, snorkeling, diving. You name it! Everything's ready for the bedroom construction and we already called some people who will help us on the hardwood floor installation. Los Angeles has the best beaches in the world. I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me. Thanks for the post by the way, Vicky!
