Certain types of art looks best when displayed in multiples. They make the strongest decorative impact in a group arrangements.
The highlight of this grouping is the identical frames and the vast amount of mirrors used.
Rarely will you see original art arranged in this manner, for it would be quite expensive. More reasonably priced prints however, make great multiples choices. Do you have any multiples in your castle?
I'm in the process of doing a wall of multiples. I have a few of my b&w photography prints that are all framed in plain black frames with white mattes. I'm adding to them this week and hope to have a wall full of them by the weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think a grouping makes a big impact - love the botanicals in the first photo!
Lisa
Interesting! I like it. However the good Lord knows I'd have the hardest time hanging them perfectly around each other at exactly the right distance.
ReplyDeleteDear RSD101,
ReplyDeleteLove the picture groupings.
Really makes a statement!
Appreciate you sharing this.
Blessings,
~D~
I'd like to do this somewhere... I REALLY love the prints in the first photo though, they are really GORGEOUS!
ReplyDelete-Debbie
juju, it anit easy...lol
ReplyDeleteI am so art deprived its not funny, I guess I just choose other things to hang on the wall, and think of them as artwork?!?! I do like the look of "mass" though...talk soon, Chrissy
ReplyDeleteLove the first photo. It almost looks like 3d wallpaper. I agree though, the thought of getting them hung straight is intimidating!
ReplyDeleteI have a 8 botanicals on one wall and black and white casual family pictures in black frames along the stairs at the lake. I confess, I like more than one of everything! :)
ReplyDelete* Vicky, that 1st photo is D*I*V*I*N*E~~~ that it has a pet's dish on the floor, right underneath all that beauty, is ENDEARING, and shows that real people DO live there... that's always VERY nice, n' HEARTWARMING, to see!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS,
Linda *
(P.S. I can't imagine having a stove on the end, all by itself, with no counter surface to the right of it... seems sooo odd to me, doesn't it to you? But heavens, those pics A-R-E FAB!!!)
Hey, Linda, I did not even notice the stove with the art being such a focal!! But no, I would not want that either.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
ReplyDeleteGood evening Vicky, how you doing? are you enjoying the nice weather and spending time outside. Im trying to find time to blog, but its a busy time for us but my addiction drags me to the blogs and sometimes late in the night...lol I love groupings, and i do plan to do one with a mixture of photos and some of my kids art from when they were young. I dread lining it all up and making sure its even. I already tend to put too many holes in the walls, pretty soon they will look like swiss cheese.
ReplyDeletehugs

I want to LIVE in the second picture!! I love the mirrors...and everything else in that room!! :-) L~
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with Tomarie, am loving the 2nd picture. Sasha
ReplyDeleteGorgeous images and great ideas. Thanks for sharing. Deborah
ReplyDeleteI love the concept and the impact of mutiples!
ReplyDeleteTo address the task of layout and hanging them, I would be tempted to use paper templates and a laser level. Having them all the same size would also be a great advantage.
Super examples Vicky and thanks for the inspiration. -Brenda-
Hey Brenda, thanks for the advice and I hope you are feeling better...
ReplyDeleteI love them all, especially the kitchen. Now do you have any hints on how to hang that many pictures and get them all straight? I usually make a template but I also use my "3 nail rule." 3 holes in the wall for each pic. and if you STILL can't get it right go to plan B! Which hopefully never involves Hubby, because then you need an extra hour for all of his measuring and leveling and to hear him lecture you on how many holes you put in the wall! HAHA
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Vicky!
ReplyDeleteBlack and Decker have a great line of Laser Levels. (ie: Bullseye Auto Level with Anglepro. Attaches to the wall. Cost about $35.00 U.S. and well worth the investment.)
Birds, in the living room, in a less symmetrical way, than shown in these photos. Ferns in the entry. Botanicals in the dining room.
ReplyDeleteI love that wall, in the first photo! Perfection!
good to see you sasha, hope you are feeling better!!xoxox
ReplyDeleteI just love grouping artwork like these lovely examples! Very inspiring! Tracey xx
ReplyDeleteI like the multiples in the kitchen and the mirrors over the mantel (however very expensive). The only multiples I have is a grouping of Sid Dickens tiles...as I think of it, I need a few more!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah ...
ReplyDeleteI have three vintage mushroom sketches!!!!!
You would want them ifin' you saw them!!
