I just love this sign. Maybe I will make one whenever I get to the re-do of my own laundry room . . .
This laundry room is so "in" right now. It has it all, painted cabinets, front load washer and dryer, the drum shade on the light fixture, the small chic tiles, even the farm house sink . . . I'm in love!
Love this "country cottage" look too. I really need to get started on my own . . . it's so bad . . . I would eat dirt before I would show it to you. lol What's your laundry room look like right now?
I love them both! How many machines are in that first room, 4? WOW!
ReplyDeleteI'm not showing mine either! But I promise to "work" on it...
I like that sign! This room is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a mini makeover of my laundry, sometime this year. It's a tiny room. In our home, at the farm, the laundry was large, with cabinets etc., and a big window. When we built this house, I wanted a smaller space. Even though it's small, the present laundry is efficient. The big laundry became a catchall, over time.
Oooo nice room! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love muted wall colors :)
ReplyDeleteIf I were given that first laundry room I would set up a cot & sleep in it the first nite!!
ReplyDeleteGarden & Be Well, XO Tara
uh oh ... you caught me with dirt in my mouth ... dirt from the pitted, stone, unsealed cellar floor.
ReplyDeleteI guess if you want to call it a laundry room you can ... to be more descriptive it's a laundry hole ... complete with spider webs, falling mortar from the riverstone foundation, live spiders, dust bunnies, sub-zero temperatures ...did i mention spiderwebs?
I have a laundry room with loads of potential. Yes, let's just say it has potential, and leave it at that.
ReplyDeleteWow, that really is a wonderful laundry room. I would love to have that much space and new washer and dryer would be fabulous too. Beautiful room. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful ! My laundry room and garage are on my list to do this year.
ReplyDeleteOk, we don't want you to eat dirt, but it can't be all that bad. I would live in my laundry room if it looked like either one of those. My laundry room is just so small and we don't have a mud room...so everything gets dumped there. I haul everything out of there once a week just so I can see my counter. I am trying to convince my husband to convert our back haul closet into locker cubbies to free up my laundry room from coats. We will have to see what spring brings. We live in Iowa and with all this snow its just a little too cold to do a project in the garage.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some inspiration from those pictures. It is amazing what a coat of paint can do for a room!
I think I could actually vacation in this laundry room:) OH this is amazing and would perhaps motivate me to even iron..not really:) I am so allergic to ironing!
ReplyDeleteJoyce
nice room, I have stenciled things above my kitchen cabinets like the kind of spices i use, etc, on the pantry door i have the word pantry and on the laundry I have the (well you get the idea) lol Have your best day ever.

Love the "Drop your pants" sign and that laundry room ALMOST makes me want to bust out the Tide!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Hi there!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud when I read the sign. Think it's a much needed time to have a sense of humor when doin' that ole laundry!
Like the rooms. Great color and the pics gave me some more ideas. Want to get a shelf up above the appliances. Maybe this summer.
If I had a huge utility room, I'd be tempted to have more than one washer and dryer. That would be so handy.
My Laundry room is in pretty good shape right now. Redone last year.
Did a post on it awhile back.
Have a great new year!
I enjoy stopping by your place and seeing the sights. Blogging has been a huge blessing to me and I'm enjoying getting to know you!
Take care,
d from homehaven
LOL. I transferred my ironing board out of the laundry room to the guest room, where I now sit to iron, sit to fold clothes, and dance around the bed if I feel like it.
ReplyDeleteLife is too short to do chores.
Hi Room Service:
ReplyDeleteLove them both! Like you, I would eat dirt before I showed my laundry room! Although, It is on my agenda this year! FYI - I posted a laundry room from Cottage Living a few years ago that you may like as well...it's under wallpaper. Hope you had a nice holiday!
That looks gorgeous! I would spend a lot of time in that laundry room. So much room to do so many other things, too.
ReplyDeleteOh you really don't want to see mine right now. This fall we had our basement wall replaced so that's a start....paint is coming on the wall and floor, new front loaders are coming, new cabinets AND a countertop is what I want most of all. It will never be as beautiful as the ones you have shown BUT...it will certainly be an improvement on what it has been and maybe just maybe, I'll enjoy doing laundry...WHAT??? Did I just say enjoy laundry???
ReplyDeleteHugs,
LeAnn:)
I love all this!!! Where can I find the funny Laundry room sign?
ReplyDeleteI love that laundry room. I re-did mine a couple of years ago and already want to re-do it again. I have a red washer and dryer! Hmmmm, not sure if I still like them. Maybe I just hate to do laundry! --Delores
ReplyDeleteBoth of those rooms are lovely! Mine looks UGLLLY at the moment - and small!..I've have actually been drawing out ideas, different lay outs etc for our laundry room because it's up next for a re-do. We are not sure though whether we should buy the new front load washer/dryer yet. ...decisions, decisions :0)
ReplyDeleteI wonder what all those cupboards are for? I can only think of one or two for detergents and an iron.
ReplyDeleteI have a stacked washer and dryer in a closet, as we live in a downtown condo (that isn't penthoused sized.) It's fine for our family of 3, so far.
CUTE SIGN..LOVE THAT MIDDLE PICTURE..WOW..MINE IS GOOD, A COMBINATION LAUNDRY ROOM/PANTRY..LOVE IT! GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS, I WANT TO SEE PICTURES! COME SAY HI :D
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say, that my laundry room is gorgeous. My dear honey (hubby) completely gutted and remodeled it after the holiday. It was a dark, dingy "catch all" and is now a bright (yellow and white!) highly organized, beautiful work space complete with a custom built (done himself no less) shelving unit that houses the washer and dryer. It is worthy (if I say so myself) of a magazine.
ReplyDeleteCute sign! I NEED IT!!
HA! Let's just say I'm with ya on the "eating dirt" thing! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy laundry room looks horrid! My hubby does want to move it and make it nice for me, though. I love the ones that you showed me... maybe that will be our next reno. Here's hoping... Hugs, Cindy S
ReplyDeleteNow there's a couple of laundry rooms to drool over!!
ReplyDeleteMy laundry room is just ok, but it could use some organization. I think I'll get right on it, well maybe.
Dear One,
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying.

Cielo Azul, if I were looking for a sign I would go to http://www.susieharrisblog.com/ She is great at it. Thanks for visiting.
ReplyDeleteOk, you might be right but I'm sure there are even worse than that! My husband went on an African Safari in August and has many trophies coming. How would you like a warthog on your wall? Yes that will be me soon! We are converting a large bedroom upstairs for his den so then he can house all his creatures. I about died when he told me what was coming!
ReplyDeleteI will never have a laundry room that looks like this. It's enough to make you take in laundry, isn't it? Mine is okay. I have a nice wash sink and a big closet with custom shelves I had put in. It could stand to be a little cuter, but that will happen with time. Thanks for the inspiring pictures!
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki,
ReplyDeleteMy laundry room is so small, but I really like it. I'm planning to post it soon so be on the lookout. But don't blink because like I said it's TINY and you might miss it!
~janet
My laundry room is a portion of our main floor Powder Room which is presently concealed behind vertical blinds. (Proposed upgrades include replacement of the latter and the installation of vertical sliding panels.) Appliances are flanked by open, floor to ceiling storage units with more than ample shelving used for storage and a suspended cross bar for hanging clothes. The Powder Room area consists of a drop wall-hung mounted counter top which provides additional space when/if needed. Hampers have always been located in each bedroom housed in a closet and ironS 'n boardS (x 3) are strategically located on each floor in accordance with need.
ReplyDeleteSorry to be sooooooo long-winded Ms. Vicky....but you did ask. SMILES 'n HUGS
-Brenda-
P.S: I bet you're thankful you didn't ask "What's your Sewing Room look like right now" as it is about five times the size.
Thanks everyone for the sweet comments, I have tried to visit each of you, but I sometimes miss someone, so please forgive me . Carol , loved your new photo! And Brenda, I loved hearing about your laundry room...
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! ok your right- you win! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki,
ReplyDeleteI love the "Drop your Pants" sign. Truly when one lives on a farm there have been times our pants and T shirts too have been so dirty we have followed the directions on the sign.
I have a piece of art, our daughter did in the second grade, hanging in my laundry room. It is so fun. Now, I just may have to make a sign like you pictured to add to the laundry room.
My laundry is just off the back door entrance in our farm home. The kitchen, back entrance and a half bath are all off this room. It is a small room that can get very cluttered, but I love it there rather than in the basement.
Just for the fun of it, I posted a few pictures of my laundry room on the Wedgwood Blue Blog - it is not a great room but it is so much better than the ringer washers and cloths lines our mothers/grandmothers used.
Thank you for stopping in from time to time and leaving a comment.
Rebecca
Vicki, I am right there with you,I had to laugh when I read that comment about eating dirt because this very day I thought I would die if anyone saw my laundry hole,I mean room. I love this one pictured it reminds me of my kitchen cabinets. Love the laundry bags. I just joined you in blogland and started a new blog if you have a chance stop on by, Kathysue

Mine would look MUCH better if I didn't feed the dog in there! Never mind that I made a cute dog bowl holder. The fact remains that my dog is even merrier than I am.
ReplyDeleteMy laundry room is ok but I am in love with that spacious green one!..Christine
ReplyDeleteCute sign!
ReplyDeleteMy laundry room is not descript...small=ish, with cupboards built over the w/d, it has a utility sink and I have a rolling rack in there to hang clothes on! Works for me, however, I do like the large one you posted. It would be great to store everything in one place!
xx
I just found you from Savvy City Farmer and I LOOOOOVE my laundry room. If you'd like to see it go here, sugar.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI found you from blog hopping! lol! Wowzers, what a laudnry room!! I thought at first it was a kitchen! Holy Cow, that is gorgeous. I can only dream of having one in my next life like that. Mine too is a small space in the basement, complete with spider webs and dust too!
