Tablescapes

One of the things I notice most about any home I am in, is the tablescapes. Tablescapes are the "eye candy" of a space. I think they should tell you a little something about the people living there. They should be interesting , but not overwhelming.
I love to include favorite books . . . not only do they show the subjects that I find interesting, but they give the much needed height for my accessories.
I love to display pictures of love ones, just don't get carried away !!!! Live plants are always welcomed, but again, DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY . . .

I change my tablescapes with the changing seasons, this was last year's spring table in my living room. I love white flowers and tulips would have to be my favorite. I grew these in my garden. Yes, I pick my flowers! That is why I grow them.

So tell me, what's on your tables?

  2. Beautiful tables!
I just published a post, this morning, about the ins and outs in accessories. I'm sure what I have on the kitchen island is thought of by some as out. But I love the pieces and added to the collection yesterday.

I'm still sort of rearranging vignettes or tablescapes. Been a slow process with the respiratory thing I am still fighting. I did complete one, a couple of weeks ago, on the foyer secretary and published at the Back Porch. Book, candle, cloche. It will stay until time for spring. I tend to use what I love and don't pay a lot of attention to what I'm "supposed" to do.:-)

  3. I am always changing mine too. I love books, topiaries and a photo. I don't like mine cluttered though. I find the older I get, the less I want...if my house starts to get cluttered my mind gets cluttered. Must be an over 50 thing:) Also, I cannot remember who designed the photo on my header but it's a beauty!

I am that Goldilocks of tablescapes, hehe. I only have usually three items on a table one always being a lamp and maybe a candle stick and some fresh flowers, I am like you, I love the real thing unless it is a verrrrrry good artificial. Pretty simple in my house. Love yours! Kathysue

  12. I have books, birds, old silver and white ceramic pieces on my tables. I agree, too much can be overwhelming. A balance is important, I think. I am careful to leave room for a cup of tea, if need be.

  17. Linda, what a extra sweet note that you left for me today. No, that painting is not one of my mom's. I brought that home from my visit to Hong Kong. It made that trip worth while...I love it. I guess it is my all-time favorite thing! So good to see you around more lately, hope your feeling better.

  21. I love to change my side table and mantle vignettes seasonally, but have got to admit that I'm so busy tablescaping I don't always get to changing all of the other things.

  23. I often make little changes when the mood strikes or the season changes...some with more thought than others! I agree with you that it really does give insight into what others are interested in and drawn to.
