French Country Style

Unlike people, rooms aren't born with a heritage; They acquire it through decoration.
The "French Country Style " is a style of restraint, the concept being that there should be no distraction from rooms with "good bones".

Accessories are few, furniture big enough to have an impact. There is a consistency of style and spirit. Yes, "French Country Style" is my favorite...What is your favorite?

  1. I have been such a traditionalist for so long and now am going much more towards the softer lines and french country. I love the relaxed feeling of these rooms and how welcoming they are. Switching over is a challenge, but I'm working at it. All of the above pics are just gorgeous. Hugs, Marty

  6. im not sure of my style, simple for sure because i like my rooms to be easy care, open and airey as our home is not very large and too much stuff around me makes me feel closed in. At this point a mixture, but lately i have been leaning towards adding cream or white, i have never really been one for bold colors in our home. I love the pictures you posted and certainly would be a look i would like to achieve, i get confused with new country, shabby chic, cottage country and so on..however judging by the pictures on my blog you wouldnt know i like these different country styles but its going to slowly change.

  11. Vicky, I have just found your blog and I love it. I feel I have found a kindred soul! I also love French Country and would love sharing my home story too. I am new to the blogging world and my focus is "thoughts, experiences, and opinions on Grandparenting, and growing older". It is evolving into much more. I have signed up on your site as a "follower" and would love for you to take a look at my blog.

I,however love old world and especially french country so I enjoyed you posts very much. I am trying to introduce a more vintage look to clients through my new blog. Wish me luck!

  20. Hello! I know this is somewhat off-topic but I had to ask. Does operating a well-established
blog like yours require a large amount of work? I'm completely new to blogging but I do write in my journal everyday. I'd
like to start a blog so I can share my personal experience and feelings online.
Please let me know if you have any recommendations or tips
for new aspiring blog owners. Thankyou!
