White Hot

When I first started in this business, my motto was... "No White Walls." And I am still not a fan of all the white rooms that I am seeing these days.
But, milky, creamy, fresh, crisp: However you describe them are finding a way into my heart. I am loving them when they are full of texture . I read that White is the new Black... Why? Because this chic color instantly lightens and brightens any setting, allowing a softer side to shine through.

White can confidently dress a room on it's own, yet it also plays well with other hues. Perhaps best of all, it exudes timeless beauty. I could sleep in here... could you?

  1. I see a lot of white. And I find it soothing, romantic, quiet. But, still I want some color. At least in small doses. Love the bathroom here. So simple; I do like the painted floors, as you may know about me.

Thanks for stopping by the other day. My days have been full since arriving in Colorado. I'm at our store now (co-owned with my daughter). So, I know how fun it is to have your daughter close. Would love to see pictures!!

    Take care, -susan

  4. Yes I could sleep in the room, so please move over girl you are hogging the bed!

I like the all 'white' and agree it does require texture plus ...... like a monocrhomatic color scheme (based on a single hue) it does require variations of it to have a visual impact.

  5. After thinking about putting together an all white room, for quite awhile, I put one together at our lake place. However, I couldn't resist throwing in a pop of aqua, in a side table.

  6. I am also beginning to love white and cream. For so many years I had to have color on everything and it has just gotten to where it seems too dark and heavy. I love all the wonderful new shades of white, cream and pale beige. They just look so fresh. Hugs, Marty

  15. I am not a fan of stark white either...I had two rooms painted a creamy color to get rid of little girl pink and green and am having a hard time with it! I have an idea though...will post about it when finished...we'll see, may still have to paint the walls! Yes....um...those girdles...not my cup of tea, but something else with interest and whimsy might be fun!

Hehe...laughing at Christine's comment about the girdles on the wall! I thought they were kind of cute...tell ya what, I'd rather hang those pretty little vintage things on the wall than to have to wear em'! Hehe!!! Thanks for sharing these pretty white rooms!
