Green Glorious Green

Nature is so integral to coloring a space, we should always be on the lookout for inspiration.
With green there is so much diversity, sage, moss, and chartreuse are all great choices to choose from.

If you love summer use the "Summer Greens". For spring, go a bit more pastel. And of course if you are a fall gal, it calls for a earthier green such as moss.

I find green very serene and calm, it has a feeling of nature. I guess that is why it's my favorite. . . Which colors make you warm and fuzzy inside?

  6. Vicky.....no argument here as psychologically speaking it has been proven 'green is serene'. Though I'm drawn to 'blue' I must admit these rooms are stunning. Thank you so much for posting them. You may convert me yet.

    P.S: I see Joni has dropped by....tee-hee.

  9. Brenda, Joni's comment made me laugh, but also think...I guess green and blue are not that differant. I don't understand why I feel so differant about the two colors. I went back and in my mind changed the green to blue in each photo and I still liked the spaces. I do stand by my opinion that I see more bad rooms done in blue...

thanks for stopping by and after living with the fridge there for two days i couldnt stand it, didnt seem to look too bad but something just didnt sit with me. I will now go back to my original plan.

  17. * BEFORE I finally go off to find Joan K's posting, I wanted to thank you ~~~ these greens are soooooo prettty & serene & soft! I love them!!!

There was a time... for Y*E*A*R*S... that I could not "TAKE" even HEARING the WORD "green", because of that "awful avocado" green, "UNhappy harvest" gold & "herculon" stuff we saw "waaay back then", & whenever I DID see it, it just DEPRESSED me... honestly! (and as a kid, no less! Thank heavens I never had to live w/ it, because my MOM didn't care for it, either... somewhere around THAT time she was into turqouises & browns & whites/creams & I LOVED our house & was so proud of it too!)~~~

BUT, THESE GREENS are SOOOO pretty, & I am sooo drawn to them when mixed with crisp whites at a dining table too!

PRETTTTTY POST, Sweetie!!! (Oh, and got Brenda's message re posting the whites I've added... if you'll go to her space at RMS, I explained some things, & will post ASAP!)...

    Will be back later ~
    BIIIIG, WARM, HUGS!

Just like Linda/mom, i remember her too, and thank you so much for getting my letter to her and im working on getting her a picture of my boring olive, mossy, green sofa...lol

  21. Hi Vicky...lovely greens...I grew up in a home that had a celery green living room which was very traditional and sophisticated....my Mom was always good with color and decorating! Have a great weekend! Laura

  22. I also love the color green, and especially the various shades in those inspirational pictures. I love, love the shade in the bedroom picture, as well as that whole bedroom!!

I am actually in the process of trying to figure out which shade of green to choose for my adirondack chairs, we will see. Have a wonderful weekend, Nicole

  23. Hi there! I think I need to pass this post on to my townhome neighbor ... she is heading the committee to decide what color to paint our townhomes this year. There are eleven of them in a row and they are three story. Right now they are nondescript gray. I was thinking a dusky sage green with contrasting deep green trim ... something that goes with the high desert climate we live in (lots of lava rock) and she told me today "the only color I don't want to paint is green." Right now she is thinking yellow .. but I just can't 'see' that on our homes!

  24. Hiya,
I love the color green (this you know). It's my favorite. I think I like it because it's a neutral with substance. I mean you get the best of both worlds: neutral color....You always post the best photos! Thanks, -susan

  25. susan, YOU are so smart...that is it in a nut shell. Neutral with substance...love that.

  27. Hi Vicky...

Green is my color...and as you know, the majority of my home is green...from the lighter garden green in my Tea Rose bedroom to the darker, moody olive green in the living area! I love the photos of the rooms in this post...but that last photo of the mossy green bedroom is my favorite! That room is gorgeous!!! Isn't that bedding and the drapes exquisite??? Ooohhh!!! Oh yes...I could sleep there!!! Hehe!

    Love ya,
    Chari
