Drama Queens

Some rooms just demand to be the center of attention. They show off with big color and pattern , screaming , "Look at me!"

I really like this room. It is fun and exciting, very well done, but I wonder if I would soon lose interest and retreat to a calmer space . . .

I tend to think we should leave the drama to "Children's Rooms" or to our own bedrooms. But then how would one get any rest? Is it just me? How do you feel about "Drama Queens" ?

  1. Agreed. The first two are too busy but I adore the last one.

  2. ha, the middle one reminds me of a powder room I had in my first house. I put zebra wallpaper and black and white tile floors..... I loved that bathroom.

  3. A little too overwhelming to me. I have, however been trying to introduce a little bit of drama...in the form of Paris touches..mostly in tones of grey, a bit of black and pops of red in our bedroom. But, after all, as you say...we do need some rest!

  4. My eyes hurt just looking at those first two pictures -- can't imagine living with them. But then there are people who need lots of visual stimulation so as the old saying goes, "different strokes for different folks".

  5. I love for kid's rooms to have interest and drama. For the rest of the house... drama queens can be pretty to look at but for me, hard to live with.

  6. I appreciate all the work that goes into putting together a Drama Queen room.

I would not want to live with one. For myself our home needs to be a place of calm with just little bits of drama.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I too have two children, love to garden and decorate.... I wish the pigs were mine.

  7. The last one is beautiful.

I could spend about five minutes in the first two before I started feeling a little "anxious."

    Nice, but not me.

I'll be hiding out in the third one!

  9. * "HOW do we feel about "DRAMA QUEENS", Vicky???~~~~~~~~~~~ I A*M one, belieeeeve me (!!!) ~~~ and I could NOT live with those!!!

I HAVE met people who COULD "live" w/ and/or HAVE "those" types of spaces~~~ they're not necessarily "DRAMA QUEENS"... nope, more like "eccentrics", & they'e enjoyable folks, IMHO!!! (A tad "silly-crazed", but ever-so- delightful n' "gutsy"!!!)...

    Love n' hugs,

  10. When there is too much going on in a room it actually hurts my head. I wouldn't last very long in that first room, and the second one I could probably stand for about 10 minutes.

  11. I guess I am one of those eccentrics because I love the second picture!! I could sit right down with a glass of wine and a couple of friends and have a blast in that room - or a cup of coffee and the morning paper for a quiet time alone. It is just yummy to me!!

  12. I wonder if the lady from the first room used to be a candystriper....it's hideous and I couldn't stay there very long, I got dizzy. The second room is very pretty but I think I would tire of the wallpaper. Great photos.

  13. I've never enjoyed drama; there is too much of it everywhere. At home, give me easy listening, easy viewing, soothing sounds.

  15. Drama queens def get your attention but then you get tired and can't relax or BREATHE! SO, they are good for magazines LOL..children's rooms can be fun though! I look forward to my future children and creating cool rooms for them -it might even be more for me hehe :0)

  19. The first two are definitely not me-I am more of a plain Jane.
I do enjoy looking at different styles though.

  22. Hey guys, I am having computer problems ... I am just about ready to call it "QUITS". I am using my daughters computer right now to let you know what is going on and why I am not getting back to anyone. Sorry!

  23. Hi Vicky,

Noooo, I don't love the first room. I just think it is interesting and decorated nicely. Have a nice weekend. Sandi

  24. The first pic; normally I love stripes but this is a little toooooo much for me. Love the furnishings 'n accessories in the second one however could not enjoy them for too long of periods. Namely because of the design in the wallpaper and wud find myself retreating elsewhere for a sense of calm. The child's bedroom though is adorable.

Hope you have your Computer woes fixed.
SUPER post Vicky! Many hugs -Brenda-

(P.S: Re my finger -- The splint is finally off, the discoloration just about all gone, no broken joints so it is coming along. Thanks sweetie for your concern.)
