My youngest daughter recently moved out and I am turning her room into a all-purpose space. I do not want to spend a lot of money and plan to use the room for my gym, scrape booking and the computer. I wanted to get a table for the scrape booking and found this one at a junk shop for $200.00, plus it came with 2 chairs that were like the ones I use in my pool house so I jumped on it. I brought it in "as is" and put together this little vignette in about 10 mins. I wanted to show that it is not the condition or style of the peice that makes it work, it is the eye candy on top.

Can't wait for part 2!
ReplyDeleteTami E.
Ohhhhh, looks like a beautiful beginning to a Miss Vicky story. Can hardly wait for the final chapter to be written.
ReplyDeleteHugs -Brenda-
Oh, I see an Asian influence in there! I love that piece. Nice table, I like the legs - is it a drop leaf?
ReplyDeleteYou make it sound like you got caught smoking - your "mom only found out yesterday" . . . : )
I understand you don't like to do posts about YOU, but I hope that you'll feel comfortable enough to share your progress with this room. I envy you the fact that you have a whole room to work with for yourself, and I'd love to see how it comes along.
Now we are getting to my kind of style.....Love your drop leaf. What do the chairs look like? Sandi
ReplyDeleteLove the table.
ReplyDeleteLove the drapes.
Adore the little bird.
I can't wait to see the finished room. The table is perfect and the vignette is so pretty. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteGreat vignette and the floors look terrific! Can't wait to see the progress...what fun to see the changes!
ReplyDeleteHmmm........my daughter just started her junior year in college. Is it too soon to re-do her room? I think you have a great thing going here - looking forward to checking back in on you!
ReplyDeleteYour table vignette is very pretty! I have a vacant daughter's room too... although I'm not yet entirely convinced that she won't be back! So I haven't even painted over the "Greek Tapenade" (a wasabi green) yet!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I found the blue chairs. I love that blog page very nice. Sandi
ReplyDeleteYou have been a busy girl....can't wait to see how it all comes together!

* "Oh yeahhhh"!!!~ This will be PERRRFECT for you!!! (And, I A*D*O*R*E that table!!!) ~~~ Am wondering V, is the "dog" outside "real" or a statue??? (It appears to be all white, that's why I'm asking!)... NIFTY VIEW, too!
ReplyDeleteYour vignette looks so super~~~ lotsa personality!!! Yessireebob, you are GOOOOOD, girlfriend!!!
Lotsa hugs,
Linda *
No, the dog is not real, it's a statue. You can not tell in the photos, but I used things that were special between leah and I since this was her bedroom. She got me the plaque, there is a bird in the nest that was in her shadow box, she got me the book...ect. Thanks everyone for the sweet comments.
ReplyDeleteLove it, I'm all about some "Me" posts !
ReplyDeleteLove the new table and the vignette! Also love the new drapes. You go girl!
ReplyDeleteSasha
Why so secretive about your blog?...oh wait! I do the same thing.
ReplyDelete* I just wrote you, but am not sure it "took"!!! Will wait a few minutes n' come back! XO, Linda *
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, can't wait to see what's next. You were smart not to tell everyone about your blog. Me I blabbed to anyone that would listen. Now I know friends are reading it but not making comments. It's kinda uncomfortable. Oh well live and learn!
ReplyDeleteJanet
Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will post images of the final!
Greet
I love that you have posted about yourself. Your room is going to be very nice. I enjoy your blog very much.
ReplyDeleteI know we each one decide what our blog will be about and mine is about me. I am not a designer or decorator of anything, just a "wanna be". I have only told a very few people that I know, about my blog. It was meant to be a way to keep in touch with my family, because I live so far away from all of them, but they don't seem to be interested. So, onward ho! Now it is about me and my interests and making new "friends", like you. Hugs, Cindy S.
Its nice to see a bit of you,I like it!!! Keep it coming darlin......x0x0x
ReplyDeleteI want to say that I in no way meant to imply that a "ME" blog is a bad thing!!! I just wanted to do a decorating blog that everyone could pick up a few tricks of the trade from. Show lots of differant styles ect. I did not want to act like it is my way only... Thier are lots of great styles and great style of blogs too, that was just my goal for my blog. I sure hope I have not offended anyone.
ReplyDeleteVicky I have known you back from the days of RMS and you are one of the most talented, sweetest and modest people on this 'green earth' and if anyone took offense to your statement, then it's because they don't know you and misinterpreted it.
ReplyDeleteMany many hugs -Brenda-
A nature inspired vignette displaying treasures with a designer's touch. The vintage table leaves an aura of time and personality that can't be caputured with 'new'. Beautifully arranged and expertly executed, my friend.
ReplyDeleteamazing at what a difference paint and hardwoods make - it looks like a different room - can't wait to see what you end up with!
