2010 Design Prediction

Sherwin Williams has made a design prediction that they are calling the "Weathered and Treasured" look.

This Design by Bowers, with it's Swedish inspired look, should really go over well. I know I would treasure it !

Loving this old tub with the worn floors. Yeah, this space would definitely hit the mark . . .

This living room has the gray that is so in now, and the weathered and treasured look. Are you liking it?

For once, I am right in style . . . if they are right . . . What are you predicting will be in , for the new year ?

  1. I'm really loving your prediction. I predict more use of burlap and natural fabrics such as linens and of course cotton. The weathered look will definitely be a hit. Of course, the Paris look will start showing up everywhere.
I'm not a designer but I try to keep up.
Thanks for the update and I agree completely.
Better get my paintbrushes out and start getting some furniture ready for my booth this spring.

  2. I love the weathered look because I love primitives!! Painted furniture pieces are my favorite and then distressed or sanded a little. My house will fit right in this year !!!!

After IMMEDIATELY falling in love, "BIIIG TIME", w/ ALL the pics (adored THE WEATHERED BLUE IN THE FIRST PIC sooo much!), I KNEW that "WEATHERED & TREASURED" DEFINITELY was "M*I*N*E"!!!.....

THENNNN, I realized I already H*A*V*E that look in OUR home~~~ UH-HUH, I D*O, Vicky!!!!!! "I" am the "weathered" and JIM is the "treasured"!!! LIfe is GOOOOOD!!!

Ever since I finished our MBR several weeks back, I have fallen even MORE and MOOOOORE in love w/ creams, vanillas, taupes, blue-greys, etc., EVERY SINGLE DAY!~~~ SOOOO much so that I'm basing the re-design of my study on our MBR feel and it's colors!!! Annnd, Jim is pleased because he actually, truly, really DOES love the way our bedroom turned out, too!!! (I STILL can't believe it, but oh! What a blessing!)~~~

  12. I love the painted and distressed look, but not the seriously distressed look of some of the photos. I do appreciate a natural distressed look, though. My table and chairs are worn with age and I gave them new seat covers, I do need to do something about the chippy wood veneer on it. I am not too crazy about grey. It looks so nice in photos that I have seen, but I couldn't live with it. It eats up the light and I NEED light. I have so enjoyed your blog this year, I hope you have enjoyed blogging and continue for some time yet. Hugs, Cindy S.

  15. That Swedish inspired room just took my breath away, because I have the same carved trim (unpainted) in a room that I've been aching to redo. I was ready to just rip it out until I saw that weathered shade of aqua. WOW!

  18. I love your pictures, especially the turquoise cabinetry. I think we will see more of the time-worn, distressed look. As long as it is authentic. Also, more natural fabrics in neutral colors--linen, hemp, burlap, etc. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. -Delores

  19. I'd better get busy with my 2010 projects - slipcovers, understated draperies, painted side table and repainting the interior of my house.

  20. Great look and timeless. I think the lighter look that we're seeing more shows that people want a more uplifting feel.....just like in their lives!

  22. Love the look but must admit, I am not about to begin giving my present furniture a distressed and/or worn painted look. Plan though to wrap a few seat cusions in Down to soften their appearance and use more natural fabrics in my decor. -Brenda-

  23. That weathered, rustic look would look more convincing with a renaissance art print.
