Get to know Ms. Applewhite

Linda Applewhite is a artist, writer, spokesperson and self-taught interior designer. Her goal is to always help her clients express who they are . . . it's more than just the placement of objects ,with Linda, it's "personal."

This is one of my all time favorite rooms. I remember the excitement that went through me when a client showed me this picture and said, "This is what I want, can you give it to me?" Could I ever, but in the end, she would not let me. When I brought her fabric to look at . . . she told me that they did not match! She got a room that she loved, but it was not a cool room like Linda Applewhite would do.

She uses color in unexpected ways. Often she will use reds and oranges together , then add a punch of green just to keep you interested.

I remember the first time I saw this room . . . I knew it was the genius of Linda, at work again. How cute are those slip covers? And the art . . . I could go on and on.

Her work has been featured in numerous publications. I know she would be one designer welcomed into my castle. . . Would you welcome her into yours?

  2. Absolutely! I've had that bedroom picture in my inspiration files for a long time, too. I used to love seeing her on that HGTV show where they would try for the same look for less and most of the time it was her original room being copied.

  3. She would be welcome in my castle any time! I appreciate anyone who takes a clients desires to heart. I love her use of yellow and red together with white, as in that bedroom. She is obviously very artistic! Cindy S.

  4. I love what she does. And yes, I'd welcome her in my castle. Yet, realistically, I have limited resources, and I know that my digs would not be appropriate for this kind of decorating.

  6. I remember her on HGTV too. She did seem to use red, orange, and yellow a lot. And I agree, she did it so creatively. Too bad your client put the halt on you. Some people don't have that eye for coordinating fabrics.

  15. I browsed a few of her portfolios and yes, I would welcome her into my Castle as I think we may share the same love for fabrics, pattern, texture, detail.... and Artwork. Not too sure about her use of reds and oranges in abundance; as I personally don't feel I could live with those colors for a too long of a period.
Enjoyed being introduced to her, as her work is 'sensible and chic'. Thanks Vicky!

  20. Vicky, She is one of my all time favorite designers. I don't think I've ever seen a room or outdoor space that she's done and not absolutely been gobsmacked by it. Yes, she can invade my castle whenever she would like.
