Those who know me know my motto is "Keep it Simple !" I read about a national survey questioning American families about "What they wanted most ..." FYI : Wealth and prestige did not make the list. The hands down number one item on the list... To simplify their lives ! A white on white color scheme is the epitome of simplicity.

Mornin' Girlfriend...
ReplyDeleteI love this post! And I don't doubt for one second that the number one choice for families was to "simplify their lives"! We're living in a day and age where everything is going much too fast...it's really so sad! On that note, I'm happy to say that my life is very simple...it hasn't always been that way but I have purposed it to be so the past few years! I feel like I've put in my time in that "ol' rat race"! Because of my purposed simplicity...I'm the happiest that I've ever been!
Okay...off my soap box now (but you did ask..hehe!) I just adore these beautiful homes! The white is so fresh and very relaxing! But I must say, different strokes for different folks...my home is all about color and lots of it! But that's what I love, enjoy, and makes me feel relaxed and happy!
Well my friend, tomorrow is Valentines Day...I'm sending my very best wishes to you and your honey...may it be the best one ever!
Love ya,
Chari
Welcome to Blogland Vickie.. what a nice surprise.. Your blog already looks so professional..I love the white on white tones..but in someone else's home.. girl it just wouldn't be work in ours. Quite honestly I must have the warmth of the jewel tones around me.. I'm sorry I'm so late in getting around to thanking you for swinging by to see the toile table.. lots of doctor runs for hubby right now...Again.. Welcome to blogland, Happy Valentine's Day..hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteHi I'm Michele I found your blog via FiFi. I do need simplicity in my decor....but....sometimes I get caught up in lavish French decor....more money....more upkeep! So I need somewhat of a balance.....CHEERS!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo is GREAT... soooo pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by... please return!
Off to look around your site.
ENJOY!

I'm a simple woman with simple tastes for the most part. Some might even say I borderline on bland, but it suits me. My choice for color in a bedroom might be either a softly or brightly colored quilt in a simple pattern. The history behind quilting is what I find so fascinating.
ReplyDeleteI would at least have to paint that tub, black or red. Kathy
ReplyDeleteOh Kathy, paint me happy, my first debate...Painting the tub would ruin the effect IMHO...hahaha
ReplyDeleteGlenda, I have done some research on the quilts and found them fascinating as well. Thanks for coming by.
ReplyDeleteSimplicity would be good. I try, but I like stuff. I break down and eliminate and then it doesn't feel "homey". Maybe if I lived in sunny California I would want it white and airy. I do love the look of it though especially rooms like the first and last ones pictured. I like rustic, but I think that I would want to paint the tub, too. ~ Robyn
ReplyDeleteOh I see... robyn and kathy are going to tag team me. Bring it on ! ha ha
ReplyDeleteI think Simplicity evokes serenity (at least for me it does); however I feel it requires pattern and texture to prevent it from becoming 'boreing'.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, I do agree to a degree... I can see the dining room in the last photo being a bit boring, but for the most part less of everthing is best, for me that is... So tell me, what do you think of the bath tub in the 2nd photo? ha
ReplyDeleteI swear,you are such a pro.You shoud write a book.The photography here is superb.You have pulled together such elegance and grace.Man-am I impressed?You betcha...Ann
ReplyDeleteHi Vicky, I am a very simple girl and I like the white on white too but not in my home either, just like Lynne. I need the warm tones too for me to be able to relax. I think whites is nice and fresh to look at but cold and wouldn't be practical for me. I like to put my feet up on the sofa....Christine
ReplyDeleteSing it Sister!!
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking the same thing...thanks for your wonderful words...I'm going to have fun perusing your blog...off I go!
Happy Valentine's Day Vicky! ♥ Diane
ReplyDeleteVicky, actually I love the bathtub. It is so unique, but unlike Artist Kathy who would paint it; I might be tempted to try and Wallpaper it. Ha!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY VALENTINE's DAY! -Brenda-
hahaha, Brenda you made me LOL ! I took another look at the room myself and the only change I would make would maybe be changing out the table...for a little contrast, I would do something fancy...haha
ReplyDeleteRegarding the table. Replace it for contrast? NEVER....just Découpage it! (Wink, wink).
ReplyDelete-Brenda-
(I'll leave you alone now. Have a great day!)
Ah sweete.... you know how I love my "things" LOL I do think these rooms are beautiful, but with three filthy dogs, a cat that likes climbing inside the fireplace, an Army husband and a 13 year old that likes to sneak food into the areas she's not supposed to... the white would be grey by now ;)
ReplyDeleteLove YOU though!
hugs and Happy Valentine's Day,
rue
I love the first rooms. Great post. Happy love day.
ReplyDeleteStay chic!
I think the white is classic and lovely! I LOVE the dining room pic!
ReplyDeleteWell, I jumped into bloggy land too! Arent' we a pair! LOL
Going to go at it veeeery slowly...but it seems fun so far! Come by when you get a chance! L~
If my life got any more "simple" Id' be an amoeba! (pro slacker remember? *winks*) Lol! Maybe that's why I like more is more in my interiors?....Hmmmm just a thought....But I do appreciate the beauty of simplicity...just not at my house *winks* Vanna
ReplyDeletesimple is what i try to live by & always am searching for but it's definitely work to stay simple. :)
