Wardrobe of a Home

My home has it's winter coat on as I write these words. Simple seasonal decorating changes can transform your home and give your accessories a spirit.
I love the look of tarnished silver in the cold months, but come spring... everything gets polished. Changing your homes wardrobe helps you stay fit as well, because you are always going up and down the attic stairs...not to mention the weight control your home will achieve in the process! Add some weight in the colder months with warm throws and lots of books by the fireplace. Lighten things up when spring comes...White slip covers , simple window treatments ect.

I'm ready for a spring dress to come down... how about you?

  2. It's nearly time for me to change my quilted throw/wall hanging to lighter colors in the family room. Love that rod pocket that makes it so easy to use on the wall. Winter colors seem to be too dark for the mood that accompanies Spring and Summer.

  3. Hi Vikki...

Love your post, Girlfriend! I have to admit...I always try to change things up a bit for the warmer summer months, but I'm not always very successful! Of course you know, I have very rich, deep colors in my home...it's a challenge to lighten things up! I usually try with a few new accessories...just as you suggested!!!

I am ready for Spring though...we have about 8 in. of snow on the ground even as I type...eeeeks!!!

    Love ya,
    Chari

  5. I'm fond of the cloche in the first photo.....rest assured spring is on the way - just not here in Minnesota. Although it was 70 degrees in my 3 season porch this afternoon and the sun warmed my bones! ~ Robyn

  8. Great tips Vickster! Love the pics! But I'm not quite ready for Winter to be over yet...guess I like that warm, cozy feel that we in the south haven't had enough of yet. :-) Great post! L~

  9. I'm in East Texas...Spring is near. The tulips and daffodils are blooming. I have noticed that some of the wildflowers are starting to bloom and the wild pear trees and red buds are in bloom! I noticed that the Elm trees are leafing out, too. Had the windows open several times the past week...love the fresh air!

  10. In the region of Canada I'm in, we have at least a few more weeks of Winter, but I am so looking forward to Spring. Up here as we have four distinct seasons we are accustom to having different wardrobes for both ourselves and for our homes. Fashion and decorating goes hand in hand...SMILES 'n {{{}}} -Brenda-

  13. Hi, I found your blog through Pat's photography blog. I can't wait to follow this one.
These are great ideas for winter and spring. I've always wanted to try white slipcovers.

  14. Vickster I have to admit...and I do feel some shame and embarrassment when I say....I rarely change anything. Yes I am a slacker....But your wonderful pics are making me feel that I really should get off my duff and freshen things up a bit. That one with the gently billowing curtains makes me long for an old farmhouse. Which is of course the farthest thing from what I actually have. So I'll just dream instead of moving.....*winks* Vanna

  17. Hi Vicky I change my home out for the fall/winter and the Spring and the summer and we all change at Christmas. Right now I have added more black touches and even a little leopard for the winter look. In the Spring which is my favorite I lighten things up and more pink comes out.for the summer I keep it ligher and add the coolness of blues and greens.I change out art work and pillows and it doesn't cost a lot but it does create storage issues.I have pictures in closets and under beds ,you name it if there is space it has a lamp, pillow etc,.My problem is finding everything it is like a scavenger hunt, hehe, kathysue
