Ouch! Vicky, my eyes are killing me! I am so very sorry, it's a visceral thing with me....the only time I like the color is when it appears on the fruit! Nope, not for me....but I do love the clock in the first photo! Take care, Laura :)
Orange is such a tough nut to crack.Done well (like the 2nd image) it can be lovely. Done poorly and it drives me bananas. It definitely looks nice in a kitchen.
Only for fall; pumpkins, leaves, candles etc.Sorry
Perhaps we can call it butternut or persimmon or terracotta. Orange sounds too bright and demanding of attention, not sedate and settled and soothing. The above rooms feel so comforting and alive.
I don't think I'd paint any walls orange in my home, but surprisingly enough I like that first photo a lot! I like bringing in orange in different tones around autumn though..it's warm and cheerful.
I'm one who doesn't like purple (except in the garden!) but I LOVE orange...always have. I remember being told when I was younger that orange was a color never to be used in decorating and wearing it was only for people with no class..it still didn't steer me away from it.
I like the look in the first picture. I would use orange in accessories, not so much on the wall or upholstered furniture. I like it like I like red ~ put here and there throughout a room to add some color where otherwise there might not be any. It could be that whole psychology thing at play though too. Some people might just feel too anxious or unable to relax with a color like orange.
Orange and purple would not be for me but you did post some interesting pics though.Carolyn
Well I think you know where I stand on the color orange. I hate pink!! Aw oh, I bet I just made a lot of pink ladies mad but seriously, I am sick of seeing pink!! Orange is fresh and warm and gender friendly....LOL!LeAnn
Oh and by the way, I love all the photos. Have you ever seen my $50.00 orange wing chair? It's one of my favorite finds ever.LeAnn
I love orange! Like so many colors, to just say orange is pretty general. I once had a "pumpkin" dining room and got tons of compliments. It just has to be the right orange!
The right shade of orange is a hit if you ask me. Especially love the Autumn colors. Also love lavender, but then I love colors, period!Who can turn down a sunset with the oranges and purples across the sky with all those beautiful clouds in the distance?Have a great week-end,d from homehaven
I always like the photos I see of orange in rooms, but when it comes to choosing colors for our house, I never think of it! And I'll just agree to disagree about the Vols--I'm a GA Dawg! :-D
I really don't mind Orange (or Pink), however personally I feel I wud tire of it quickly, thus wud want it only in small doses.Back in 1962 it was all the rage as I recall my eldest sister's apartment quite tastefully being dressed in it. -Brenda-
Orange...I LOVE it!!!Bunny
I used to be adament that I DID NOT like orange...but it slowly snuck into my wardrobe and although I don't have any in my home (except for fall decorations)...I think some of the pictures you posted are pretty!
Those are my boss's two favorite colors. He is an Architect. I happen to like them myself. Purple not so much on the walls but I'd put orange there!
* For moi, it depends on the MOOD I'm ALREADY IN, when I SEE~~~ it & the WAY in which it is used... I DO tend to think of it as a fall color, always so magnificently blending & mixing w/ the changing leaves I so long to see n' enjoy!!!I've come to the conclusion that if done/used well, I can like almost ANY color~~~ ( I just remembered that as a VERRRY young bride, I ADORED yellow & oranges~ then again, that was back in the 1800s, girlfriends!!!)...I LIKED these pics~~~ don't know how LONG until I might TIRED of all the brightness, but for now, me likey!!!Hugs n' XO,Linda
P.S. "On the way out" I did a quick "re-look"... I like EVERY pic you shared here, and ESPECIALLY like the stark white chair with the "orange" walls~~~ DEEEELICIOUS!!!! XO
I think a couple of orange accessories are nice in a room. Its a little unexpected. Several years back my husband (who loved orange) tried to paint our stairwell orange when I was recovering from a c-section and it did not go over very well. Its still hard for us to joke about it.
I love orange, it happens to be one of my favorite colors, specially the Hermes box orange.
I love that first photo, I've used in on my own blog. Orange is not a color I use in my own home but I do love it in softer shades like you've shown here. When my daughter was younger, she had some orange accents in her room (where there were lots of other colors too) and her orange wire waste basket always made me happy! Isn't that silly?
Hi Vicky! I love orange! I always incorporate it in my home decor. It makes a place lively, in my opinion....Christine
I LOVE ORANGE!Greet
Homesick Tennessee girl here. Gotta love those Vols! Go Vols! (I live in Big Red country now so - Go Big Red too - Nebraska Huskers).
I've never thought of orange to decorate with, but it certainly works wonderfully in these photos!
Lovely photos of ORANGE! So many seem to hate the colour, but it still seems to be a trend right now. Thank you for visiting my blog.
Again, these are WONDERFUL examples of innovative color use. I find the comments just as interesting. It reminds me of people who say, "I love New York, but I could never live there." There's never a reason why! It's also sort of like a political debate where one side just is and the other side won't budge, because they just ARE. I say try color....it's not going to kill you, right? Open your minds to try something new. I always tell people....it's just paint! If you decide it's too much (or too little), just paint it again!
