Only a penny??? I love the stenciling or wallpaper whichever it is, love the lamp. I'm not a big fan of the gigantic sconce. The sink bowl seems to be too small of scale for the overpowering sconce but I wouldn't hesitate to wash my hands here. Always a pleasure reading your blog:)
I feel if this was an adjacent Powder Room next to the beautiful Kitchen (you featured in your previous post) it would go well with the Apron SinkS....that I'M STILL DROOLING over. (Hand me that towel (?) please.)
Not too sure about the scale of the Sconce. Wud have to see the rest of the room therefore as is and rating it as a Vignette; I'd give it 1 and 1/2 thumbs up plus a pinky finger. -Brenda-
Love the sconce. Love the counter top. Love the wallpaper. The bunny soap? holder is cute enough, I guess. Like the lamp base, not so much the lampshade - too. . . something and maybe too large. Love the child's pic although think the frame could have been larger. Hate the bowl sink and faucet. Too modernish I think, but then I don't really care for this type of sink. Looks too uncomfortable to use for some reason.
It's beautiful, but I don't think I could live with something so elaborate. Wonder what the wall chandy looks like lit! Oh, where's the bathroom mirror? I wouldn't be able to see my most gorgeous face! :) Be a sweetie, Shelia :)
Individually, the objects are all very interesting, but collectively? I'm not so sure. The arrangement is trying too hard to be eclectic, juxtaposing antique with modern as it does. I would change out the table lamp and vessel sink for something less "mod" but still modern, if that makes sense. :)
I agree with Diann ..the sink seems small compared to the nice candle scone...and I'm not too crazy ab the lampshade..I DO love that bunny bowl though! lol
I like everything pictured, especially the candle holder (candelebra?) and least of all the lamp. Don't think they all look very good together, though. The scales seem off and I wonder if water would splash on the photo. Also, isn't a vanity a strange place to put a photo?
you know Vickie, the sconce may be large but that is what i like about it (element of surprise) Its always interesting when something is added to a room that you may not expect. The room has tension, a relaxed feel competing with a more glam feel, but another reason i like it. Another great thread! hugs janet
I am one who loves over the top. This is beautiful. Why not have fun in a bathroom. It is a house not a dentis ofice.Come to think some dentis offices are interesting. Kathy
My turn... I can not let the fact that thier is no mirror pass by! However, I do find it appealing, I like the color, the light, and the counter. I would pass on the lamp, photo and the opened book ... I think it is a case of trying too hard to be eclectic as tracy stated. Thanks for commenting, love to hear what you guys think about the same space.
Funny, I so did not notice that there was NO mirror!! Thanks for the welcoming. I broke the cardinal rule of if you look/post comment. Me bad. Promise to be better.
I'm not crazy about it. It needs a mirror and I think the accessories are too small. I'm also getting tired of light blue, beige and white color schemes. I'd love to see more of the vanity, is it a distressed piece of furniture? Built-in wood counter? The sconce is pretty amazing, I like it.
Something about this picture stirs up a smile for me. I think it's the wood counter top...looks to be thick and weathered. I love the sconce...but would like to have a mirror someplace too. I'm not crazy about the vessel sink. I understand mixing vintage or rustic (counter top) and modern (sink)...but I think it could have been done better. I'd ditch the sink and some of the 'stuff' on the counter that doesn't make sense (book, lamp). This has to be a powder room otherwise I don't think you'd get away with it. Thanks for sharing, Tami E.
Either the sconce is too big or everything else is too small. The lamp is completely redundant with that huge sconce, it seems a standing mirror would have been better there.
Hi: I just want you to know how much I have learned by following your blog. Thank you so much for being open and sharing your knowledge. Blessings, Martha
Probably not very practical but it does make me smile !

The candle holder is beautiful on this photo.
ReplyDeleteIt looks elegant classy with grace. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks interesting and love the picture of the little child. What is that in front of the vessel? sandi

ReplyDeleteThat sconce is a fantastic idea! Never seen before! It is the half of a chandelier!

ReplyDeleteNot crazy about it. I do not like the lamp shade. I don't like the sconce over the sink. I do like the feel of the colors but not the items together.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
ReplyDeleteLove the bowl type sink.
(I SO want one)
Adore the funky fancy light fixture.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is the wallpaper.
Different lampshade..bigger sink...perfect!

"Im so dizzy, my head is spinning" ...hey isn't that a song?
ReplyDeleteI would have stacked a big load of fluffy towels where the miniscule lamp is sitting.
They are all nice pieces, but I wouldn't put them together. They are all too different from each other, imho. Hugs, Cindy S.
