I've read it should be the first room decorated in a new home ... but in my experience working in this small town I have noticed that most the time it is the last.

Bedroom Secerts
Your bedroom should be the stylish, comfortable room of your dreams ... but for a lot of us it holds our little secrets. ( the pillow at the end of the bed is for my little fur baby)
I've read it should be the first room decorated in a new home ... but in my experience working in this small town I have noticed that most the time it is the last.

Uhm well...YES! We don't have one! a bedroom!
ReplyDeleteIt's one big open space where we haven't done any renovation *blush*. It's my little secret, the whole house is almost finished and we saved upstair for last.
I really like your bedroom very open and pretty
ReplyDeletewe have a large plate glass window looking into our backyard, which services as our headboard, my little furbabies keep it filthy, I clean it once a week unless we have company then I make sure it sparkles, if not I would be cleaning it 20 times a day, finally just gave up on it.
You have a very lovely cozy bedroom. Since I am now a single Mom, I can paint my room any way I want. Mine is a sunny yellow, my bed is an antique white iron bed adorned with birds, My bedding is a cheerful mix of apple green checks and geranium pink and yellow flowers. However, if I would put away the perpetual laundry in the baskets I could show you a picture......Robyn
ReplyDeleteI too like your bedroom Vicky. (Can't recall seeing it before.) Our bedroom is on the 2nd level with a southern exposure and has Patio Doors with a small porch off of it overlookng the backyard. Two secrets; I personally never have used it due to my problem with Vertigo though I have been the one that maintains it. (Exterior wood stain.) Also, as I dabble in Feng Shui I am very particular about the placement of the furniture and I have always had wallpaper in my bedroom(s). (Maybe that is four secrets....smiles.)
ReplyDeleteHAVE A BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND! It is going to be 41 degrees here today...and no snow is forecasted. Woohoo!
Brenda, I can always count on you for a big smile ! Thanks for supporting my humble blog you add so much to it...
ReplyDeleteVicki, I think you have a lovely bedroom. I am really in the mood to redo our bedroom. I am going to live with the way it is for a little while. I am lucky our furbabies know they can't get on the bed when it's made. I am grateful for that. I love having a nice cozy chair in the bedroom. Mine is actually a push back recliner. I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Terrie
It is not my bedroom, but my basement that has a top secret; it has been totally disorganized since Christmas. I really must get down there and spend an afternoon organizing it. Wishing you a Happy Easter, enjoy! ~Cathy~
ReplyDeleteLove your bedroom! Me, it's pillows! Gotta have lots of pillows!
ReplyDeleteGM Vicky...Girl I love your bedroom..and don't look under me bed..its hold dishes in storage bags..hey I ran out of run at the Inn..and Vicky when we were building the first room I did was our bedroom..after working all day on the house I wanted a clean and comfortable spot at night to rest and watch tv..May you have a wonderful Easter dear friend..eat a chocolate bunny for me...well may just its ear..hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is beautiful Vicky.
ReplyDeleteI have stacks of books in the bedroom. Right now, there are a couple of prints leaning against the wall. I don't always make the bed, everyday. Molly shares our room, so there is a fair amount of Labrador hair, that needs vaccuuming everyday. The dining room table leaves are stored under the bed. There are probably more secrets, but thankfully, they've slipped my mind!!
My bedroom could use a little help right now but I am being a little lazy. I need to paint my dresser, add crown molding and update my comforter. You have provided some inspiration. Thanks much. Happy Easter, dear blog friend.
ReplyDeletebut of course my darling...i have a fan award fro you.it simply means i am a fan of your blog.pleas pick it up and give it to whomever you choose or how many.it is april, fan month...ann
ReplyDeleteI wish you and familia Happy Easter, Dolly
ReplyDelete* Hi, Vcky-girl! "BEDROOM SECRETS" you ask??? "Um, yeah, welllll...."~~~ the only ones of ANY "interest"(HERE, anyway!) might be that I have been using every inch under OUR bed (after a fav/large/ antique Kilim was "temporarily stored" there!)to store~~ you guessed it!~~~ more D*I*S*H*E*S!!! (BUUUUUT, I happen to KNOW WELL that I am N*O*T the ONLY one who does that!!!). I think if I inspected it today, I'd PROBABLY find that lonnng-lost cowboy boot, too, buttttt.......... ANYhoooo, as always, it's so nice to "be here" ~ thanks! Hugs, Linda *
ReplyDeleteI have that same lady picture above my bed! I redecorated that room countless times before I got it right! I'll have to do a bedroom post and let you know so you can take a look see. We have a 60 pd. doggie who sleeps with us every night! Denise
ReplyDeleteMom, You gals are going to be the death of me. I just keep buying dishes and I was not like that before susan...
ReplyDeleteHey girl...I been living here 8 years and I still have a bedroom that isn't finished! I have always loved your bedroom girl..especially that painted cabinet! Hope you have a glorious Easter my friend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely room! I must admit even as a decorator my room is the last to be finished....just don't spend a whole heck of a lot of time there!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you for a wonderful Easter.
Im shocked!!! i didnt think you liked color, and what do i see? this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
ReplyDeleteroom. Love the contrast of the dark curtains and white bedding (which has become a fav of mine) At one time, i was one of those who always left the bedroom to last, not anymore, however it still isnt where i want it. I do have a cat bed at the end of our bed, the fabric is cream with black paw prints on it, so you see i also have a furry cat that actually thinks she owns our bed. She loves this new cat bed and will sleep on it most of the times when she isnt trying to snuggle up to my favorite furry fluffy off white throw pillow...thank goodness! We also prefer dark curtains, we have chocolate brown as we both prefer a dark room in the morning. I have storage totes and likely numerous dustbunnies lurking under the bed. We have been in this home for almost two years now and the ceiling still houses a boob light...uggg! thanks for sharing your beautiful bedroom, now im really anxious to get my white bedding....shhhh it just may show up at the house one day and hide in the closet until its a safe time for it to appear...lol
hugs
janet
Vicky, Your room is beautiful and so serene!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, secrets about the bedroom huh? My room is about 75% painted & I don't like the color very much, so it hasn't been finished. We had cabinets installed on the window wall, using one of Candace Olsen's designs as inspiration. I wanted the cabinets painted, so we're going to paint them someday... They've been there a year already... Kind of goes with the need to repaint the walls.
I sleep with 4 dogs, sometimes 3 if Roxy decides to sleep in her bed by the TV. Since the bedding is washed FREQUENTLY, everything has to be washable.
I have stuff under the bed too, but no room for dishes although it's a thought because I've run out of room in the kitchen!
Hugs! ♥ Diane
Hi Vickster!
ReplyDeleteI love your bedroom! It's pretty...but relaxing looking at the same time!

ReplyDeleteOur bedroom is huge! I love it but decided against decorating it since we'll only be there for one year.
ReplyDeleteI really like the bedding you chose. The hubby and I did recently purchase some new bedding at Marshalls.
