Collections add character to a room. Even if the collection is not expensive or rare , a clever arrangement can create great impact.
Consider that a lot of anything is always interesting to look at.
Even everyday objects can be eye-catching as precious ones when they are arranged in an appealing way. Do you have any collections you would like to tell us about?
Vicki, I love the inspiration pictures of collections. I really do not have any collections. Maybe I should rethink that. Because I love the 1st picture. Hugs, Terrie
I think a collection, artfully arranged, is as pleasing to the eye as any piece of art and truly expresses the personality of the house's owner. Love, love, love the collection of hats!
I collect everything...seriously...if you visit my blog and check out Thursdays vintage post..you will see what I mean...and the thing is, I live in a small house, full of treasures! I like the groupings of things...great idea.
Neat! You know I am a collector, don't you, Vicky? I pretty much collect everything, LOL! I agree that you have to display collections in such an artsy way so that they do not appear like clutter....Christine
i havent collected much in a long time, unless you want to count my drums stools, but that is only two...lol although this year i could have went bird crazy but i controlled myself because i really dislike dusting. I have seen alot of plate collections lately, and i must admit they look rather neat just hung randomly on a wall, i was admiring this look in my magazine last night. Anther great post! hugs janet
Another great post! Just wanted you to know that I have nominated you for an award. Your blog is just so inviting and always full of information. Drop by my place whenever you get a chance and check it out.
I am a bit like Janet as I have kept my collections to a minimum as....hate dusting. (I like a clean home but at my age do not believe in being a slave to it.)
Cudn't agree with more Vicky, 'a clever arrangement can make a great impact'.
Collections are dangerous - just kidding. Sometimes at a flea market or antique show I will be attracted to something and think, "No, I can't have it, because then I will have to collect them!" Seriously, I have so many collections and it is a disease - one that I love!
Hello! I am just browsing all the blogs today! I am over from Cathy at Mille Fleur. I love your blog! I too am married 28 years, mother of two and love to design inside and out! Birds of a feather! HAGD!

These collections look very nice and orderly and not over done. I have seen many who collect too many items. This was nice though.
ReplyDeleteThanks

I like things pulled together en masse. And I have this thing for a gathering of hats perched on a rack.
ReplyDeleteI just adore those bottles in the first picture! It is fun to find little things to collect and display creatively!
ReplyDeleteI just started a straw hat collection.
