Now Vicky you know girl I am a more is more gal..but this is even too much for me..WOW!! I would die trying to dust all of this..Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Wow! I have a lot of stuff in the kitchen/hearth room area and J, the great and wonderful, has tons o' stuff in his "room", but this is alotta stuff. The last room has possibilities. I couldn't rest my eyes anywhere in the first room, though. Sorry, not mean, just honest.
Your a funny gal you are....can you imagine trying to "tweak" one of those places, no thanks!! MAkes me feel like less of a clutterbug thats for sure!! Great post, talk soon, Chrissy
I like my stuff, for sure!! But, I think I like it more controlled, a little more pared down. Then again, I go into rooms like these, and I stand mesmerized...taking it all in. Have a good week! -susan
Carol, The frist one is just wrong. Too much in it for sure, nothing relates , the arrangement is awful. I would have to start completely over. The 2nd one needs a new paint job for sure and that little short table with the lamp would have to be replaced. I would get rid of the mirror and the top picture as well. The bookcase and some of the stuff on the coffee table would go as well. But of the three rooms is has the most hope IMHO. The last picture...well, you know for me the blue would have to go and so would the white molding. After that I could live with it. What would you do? (anyone)
Hi there -- again! Got your intriguing offer to edit, but I will have to pass on this one. I started to think about it, just because you got me thinking! But, truth be told, just have too much on my plate to concentrate. Rain check! ya? I look forward to seeing what others say. Take care and thanks for including me, -susan
Vicky, re editing here is my solution. I think I would be tempted to tackle them as if I were packing a suitcase for an overseas vacation. Namely: a) Choose what I really need and/or cherish. b) Pare down to the main essentials and/or accessories. c) Then deduct 50% of it. AND................................... d) Have one whopper of an Auction Garage Sale that would help finance my vacation. -sMiLeS- Brenda
Vicky, I think you hit a solution on #3 with paint. The room is actually not too bad but the paint color has to go. Now, I'm a color gal but I see that room painted Lenox Tan (Ben Moore) and very monchromatic. Room #1 has interesting architecture but everything in it needs to go in a POD and edited. #2 - the Pepto Pink has to go and the mirror over the fireplace looks like something I threw out the window of my first apt. Change the wall color, empty the bookcases, get rid of that lamp with the black shade, (Not entirely.... it's a cool lamp. Just not there!) and you've actually have a great room. I think the sofas work. I even like the placement of them. I like Brenda's idea #4! Let's all go on a vacation! Carol
Please!! dont anyone take my comments to heart. For me, these rooms feel CLAUSTROPHOBIC and the very thought of living in them would send me into a PANIC ATTACK. My life isnt simple so our home HAS to be, it has to evoke a peaceful feeling, so i could never live in these spaces. Now that being said i have seen so many beautiful homes with a more is more feeling and they are absolutely beautiful. Home decor is all about what makes us feel good, so there really isnt any right or wrong. hugs janet
oh and how i would fix these rooms so that i could live in them, i would gather lots of boxes and pack every single item up, take inventory and only return what i really love or what i can really live with. hugs janet
Vicky, this was a fun post. Thank you! Hopefully I didn't hurt anyone's feelings as that was not my intention. I am a firm believer in 'different strokes for different folks', 'to each their own' and 'variety is the spice of life'. Hugs -Brenda-
